For a second straight season, the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers boys golf team will compete for a Class 3A state championship. The Tigers were one of five regional schools battling for two state qualifying spots in Friday’s 18 hole District Tournament at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club. ADM, who placed runner-up during last week’s sectional tournament in Denison, qualified for state with the district’s lowest score of 308. The Norwalk Warriors will join ADM at state after a second-place team finish at 310 points. Host Atlantic finished third with 313, Winterset placed fourth with 345 points, and Bondurant-Farrar closed the team scores with 365.

ADM senior Micah Moyer topped the individual standings, earning meet medalist honors with a two-over 71. Moyer bested the field by three strokes. Junior Adam O’Connor and senior Matthew West both 78 in the district tournament while senior Grant Curran rounded out ADM’s scoring with an 81. ADM advances to the Class 3A State Golf Tournament next Thursday and Friday at the Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge. The Tigers will battle for a team state championship against squads from Central DeWitt, Clear Lake, Grinnell, Nevada, Norwalk, Oskaloosa, Spencer, and Washington.
