Severe storms in our listening area transitioned from spring to winter throughout the weekend. Currently a round of winter storms have covered roads and made travel difficult. The Iowa Department of Transportation reports that roads are completely covered in all of Dallas and most of Guthrie County. While roads in the northern edge of Guthrie and the majority of Greene County are partially covered. Adair County also contains a mixture of partially to completely covered roadways. A tow ban has also been issued for Dallas County.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Dallas County until 1pm and Greene County until 5pm. Motorists are encouraged to keep winter survival kits in their vehicles and travel with caution for the rest of the day.
