StuartThe Stuart City Council will meet in a special session tonight.

The Council will begin the meeting by reviewing the proposed site plan for expansion efforts at Casey’s General Store. Casey’s expressed interest for expansion around the same time as Karl Chevrolet directly to the south. The City hopes to accommodate both expansion plans, while also avoiding construction headaches for semi-truck drivers and residents in that area of town.

The Council will also continue its discussion on implementing policies for proper usage of the City’s sports complex. At the regular meeting earlier this month, the Council narrowly allowed the South Dallas Little League to maintain access to the fields amid concerns of misuse. Representatives from South Dallas Softball will also be present to address their concerns regarding field usage.

The council will also continue discussing scheduled bond financing. They will seek to approve the authorization of a preliminary official statement for the sale of general obligation bonds. The meeting begins at 6:30pm in the Council Chambers at Stuart City Hall.
