Hopefully everyone has enjoyed the warmer temperatures and spring-like weather, because it will change later today and through the weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a slight risk for severe weather for Greene, Guthrie, Dallas and Adair counties for today and tomorrow. A slight risk means there’s a possible area of organized severe storms that could develop, which are not widespread in coverage and may have various levels of intensity.

With severe thunderstorms, some of the impacts that the National Weather Service says could happen are hail, damaging winds and lightning. There is also potential for anywhere between one to three-inches of snow in our area expected to start early Saturday morning and last throughout the day. Possible snow and ice-covered roads could be included.

Whenever severe weather happens, Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team provides live coverage of each incident. We also provide cancellation and postponement information, along with road condition and damage reports.
