A well-known Cooper couple is this year’s Greene County Impact Award winners.

Chuck and Carla Offenburger are this year’s recipient of the award that recognizes an individual or individuals whose volunteer activities have an impact on Greene County residents. Carla has helped with the initial streetscape plan for downtown Jefferson, served as director of the Gallup house and was president of the Raccoon River Valley Trail Association for four years. She also currently serves on Jefferson Matters: Main Street’s organizational committee, as well as clerk for Franklin Township.

Chuck currently serves on the Greene County Historical Society board and on the Courthouse 100 committee.

Both Chuck and Carla co-chaired the local executive committee for the Register’s Great Annual Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) ten year’s ago when Jefferson was the overnight stop.

A special reception is slated for Sunday, June 3rd at 3pm in the Greene County Courthouse rotunda. It is free and open to the public.
