Track & Field postseason assignments were released late last week by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union and Iowa High School Athletic Association. The Greene County teams dropped a class this year and are in 2A. Coach Derek Merk’s girls and Coach Chad Morton’s boys will be in a Coed State Qualifying Meet in Manson on Thursday, May 10. Coach Morton talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the assignment. “I’m excited to go to Manson. I’ve started (as an official) district meets there, and they run a really good meet. There’s going to be some really good teams up there, so hopefully we can be at our best by the time we get to our State Qualifying Meet up there.”

The Greene County boys have had four meets and the girls three going into this week. Last week saw the best weather of the season to date, and also saw the Rams turn in many of their best performances of the season. Coach Morton added, “I thought last week we did a great job, had a good week, and hopefully, we can get two more meets in this week.”
