A Scranton man faces felony charges for sexual abuse of a minor.

According to court documents, 62-year-old Gary Lee Warnke is charged with felonies for second degree sexual abuse and lascivious acts with a child, fondle or touch.

The charges stem from an alleged incident that was reported to the Greene County Sheriff’s office on March 28th. The incident occurred at the Warnke’s home in Scranton earlier that month. According to the report, the victim, who is under 12-years-old, claims that she was at his house to play with some of his nephews. She then went into his bedroom where he allegedly assaulted her. In a forensic interview at Blank Children’s Hospital, the victim says he inappropriately touched her three other times.

In a conversation with the investigating deputy, Warnke agreed to take a polygraph test, but then declined a few days later after he spoke with an attorney.

An arrest warrant was executed and Warnke was taken into custody. He was booked into the Greene County Jail and later bonded out. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 27th.
