An Adel 14-year-old has been arrested in connection with threats made to Adel-Desoto-Minburn Middle School Thursday.

According to a press release distributed Friday by the Adel Police Department, Adel Police arrested the middle school student and charged him with making threats and threat of terrorism, both Class D felonies. Adel Police Chief Gordy Shepherd stated, “The specific threats made were serious enough to warrant the arrest of the individual.”

Shepherd and ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe believed there was no immediate danger to students or staff at the time of the alleged threats. Shepherd also thanks the district and witnesses for coming forward and cooperating in the case.
