A Stuart woman was transported to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines after a single-vehicle wreck in Dallas County last Friday morning.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office reports, at 9:34 a.m. Friday, they received a call regarding a vehicle rollover in the 34000 block of Ute Avenue, just south of Interstate 80. A 1998 Buick driven by 27-year-old Alison Punelli of Stuart was traveling northbound when she lost control of her vehicle and slid off the roadway. The vehicle slid sideways through the ditch before overturning on a sharper drop off, coming to rest on its top. Punelli had to be extricated by the Waukee Fire Department and was found with lacerations to her hands and head pain. She was taken by ambulance to Methodist with suspected minor injuries.

Punelli admitted to driving too fast for the conditions, which included snow and ice on the road. She was wearing her seatbelt, though the airbag didn’t deploy. The vehicle was a total loss.
