Spots on this year’s varsity team are up for grabs as the Panorama Panthers boys golf team graduated three athletes off last year’s third-place finish in the Class 2A state golf meet. Graduated off last year’s squad are top-10 individual finishers Will Babcock (142; tied-second) and George Appleseth (147; tied-10th) along with the Mitchell Wagler (179; tied-58th).

David Van Ahn is embarking on his first official organized practice this evening after volunteering his time the past three years under long-time Panorama boys golf coach Hal Rossow. Van Ahn spoke with Raccoon Valley Radio Friday morning about the team’s returning varsity players and among the best is sophomore Koby Shackelford. “He’s been the PGA regional champion of the year last season in the 15-year-old category,” Van Ahn said, “As well as winning it when he was 13 and 11.”

Returning with Shackelford are a pair of juniors who played in last year’s Class 2A state tournament in Trey Cobb and Dylan Douglass.
