Unlike a majority of their female counterparts, the Panorama Panthers boys track team is in the swing of the practice routine. Panorama head track coach Greg Thompson says with the end of the wrestling and boys basketball season coming in the middle of February, he was able to practice day one with his entire boy’s squad while the girl’s basketball team finished up their run in the postseason tournament.

Thompson adds he has a batch of seniors he’s excited to have back this spring. “The key kids we look to see something special from include Dan Jensen, a senior, who was a qualifier for discus at the state meet last year. He has a chance to qualify for the state meet in both discus and shot.” Thompson said, “Danny Nordquist will be looking to qualify in the mile. Josh Carstens coming off his great fall season in cross country, finishing 21st at the state meet, he’s focusing on the two-mile.”

The Panorama Panthers boys track team will open their indoor season this Friday in Pella at the annual Central College Indoor Meet.
