DSCN8132Following an overnight snowfall that went throughout Tuesday morning, road conditions are improving throughout the City of Jefferson.

Public Works Director Dave Morlan says crews were out at 4:30am this morning applying sand and salt to all of the stop and yield sign intersections in town. Then at 8:30am, all of the snow plows were out removing snow from the traveled portion of the roads. Morlan anticipates crews to remain out this afternoon to finish clearing the snow to the curb on all residential streets and may finish the downtown square later tonight.

The National Weather Service has extended the winter weather advisory for Greene County until 6pm tonight.
