Marc Ray Requests Change of Venue for Trial

Marc Ray

One of the four remaining defendants in the case of 16-year-old Sabrina Ray’s death has requested a change of venue for the trial.

According to online court documents, the attorney for Marc Ray of Perry, the adoptive father of Sabrina, asked Thursday that the trial be moved out of Dallas County. The motion claimed there has been too much media coverage for Marc to receive a fair trial from an impartial jury. As of now the judge assigned to the case, the Honorable Terry Rickers, hasn’t made any decision on moving Marc or any other defendant’s trial out of Dallas County.

Marc and Misty Ray, Carla Bousman, and Josie Bousman, the adoptive parents, grandmother, and cousin of Sabrina, respectively, are each being charged in connection to the teen’s death on May 12, 2017. A fifth suspect, Sabrina’s adoptive brother Justin Ray, was recently sentenced to 10 years in prison for his part in her death. Marc faces 14 charges, the most serious being one count of first degree murder, and three counts of first degree kidnapping, all Class A Felonies. See below for a full list of charges for each remaining defendant. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring more information on this case as it’s made official.
