Perry will play host to several democratic candidates this Friday, as they begin the push toward the upcoming primary elections.

The Perry Area Democrats are hosting the meet and greet, which will feature John Norris, a democratic candidate for governor. Norris is one of several candidates vying for the democratic nomination for the right to run against incumbent Governor Kim Reynolds. He will be in the Cellar of La Poste on Friday from 5:30-8 p.m. to talk to voters about his candidacy and plans if elected. In addition to Norris, David Weaver of Rippey and Warren Varley of Stuart, democratic candidates for Iowa House Districts 47 and 20, respectively, will be at the event to talk to attendees.

There is no cost to attend the meet and greet, and the public is encouraged to ask questions of the candidates and express their concerns. Light appetizers will be provided by La Poste, there will be live music by Brendan McKnight, and a cash bar will be available.
