Greene County Supervisors 3_12The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

Following a public hearing, during which no comments were made, the Board approved an amendment to the current fiscal year budget, as well as the 2019 fiscal year budget. The countywide tax levy will be $5.79 per $1,000 valuation and the rural tax levy is going to be $3.35. Additionally, the Board reaffirmed their decision on the compensation schedule for elected county positions with a three-percent raise in salaries for the next fiscal year, as well as approving the tax certifications.

Next, the Board heard an update from Jefferson City Administrator Mike Palmer. He said the City continues to work with Pinnacle Construction to close out the Community Development Block Grant. The City is also looking to begin a second phase of the CDBG project with more downtown building owners. Finally, Palmer mentioned that the City is working with Region XII Council of Governments to update its comprehensive plan.

The Board then approved a Louis Dreyfus funding request for $4,900 for a stained glass restoration project at the Pleasant Hill Memorial Chapel. They also approved an engagement agreement with Northland Securities to serve as a financial advisor for urban renewal projects and issuing bonds.
