3-14 House Fire

Fire crews responded to a house fire in downtown Perry early Wednesday morning.

At around 1:30 a.m., a call came in about a fire in the residence located at 1324 Willis Avenue, across the street from the Perry Fareway. The Perry Fire Department responded and fought the fire for several hours. Initial reports indicate the fire started in the upstairs of the two-story house, though the cause is unknown and under investigation at this time. Sources say the occupants of the house were able to get out unharmed, and firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading to neighboring houses. The Dawson Fire Department, Perry Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s Deputies, Perry First Responders, and Dallas County Emergency Medical Services aided at the scene.
