ADM Tigers

College soccer is officially a part of Adel-Desoto-Minburn senior Izzy LaFollette’s plans after signing with the University of Northern Iowa Women soccer program during last month’s national signing day. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network reached out to second year University of Northern Iowa head women’s soccer coach Bruce Erickson recently to discuss his program’s level of interest in LaFollette and the ways she can continue to improve as she prepares for collegiate soccer.

Erickson sees LaFollette’s versatility as an asset and wants to see her continue to develop as a total player. “We really feel like there are a couple of different positions she can play based on her skill set and her abilities.” Erickson said, “We want to see her continue getting comfortable with the ball and I think she’s an attacking player by trade, which is where we see her.”

LaFollette spearheaded the Tiger’s offensive charge last season as a forward, scoring a team-best 19 goals and assisting on eight others. Her efforts helped the ADM-Van Meter girls soccer team to an 18-2 overall record and a final four finish in the Class 2A state soccer tournament. The first official high school girls soccer practice of the season is this Monday, March 19.
