Greene County Community CenterA reminder for some youth interested in participating in soccer that the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department is holding a soccer sign up event tomorrow.

It is for boys and girls for U10, U12 and U15 leagues. The event is for kids and parents to meet the coaches and discuss practices, rules and other information. JPRD Director Vicky Lautner says the same coaches who are helping with the new Greene County High School soccer program are also doing the soccer leagues for the parks and rec department.

“Chad Schwander and Chad Black are both going to be working with these children, and Chad Black I believe is also helping with the high school program. So there’s going to be some consistency there, as far as what’s being taught, and the correct way. We feel this is a good start to maybe start soccer with the kids.”

Cost to participate in the spring soccer program is $55 which includes a jersey. Contact the community center at 386-3412 for more information.
