Amanda GoodpasterA Missouri woman allegedly assaulted law enforcement officials after being arrested for public intoxication in Jefferson over the weekend.

According to the Jefferson Police Department, an officer responded to a call of two people sitting in the middle of the street in the 500 block of South Cedar Street, just before 11pm Sunday. The investigation led to the arrest of 30-year-old Amanda Jo Goodpaster for two simple misdemeanors for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Goodpaster was upset and being non-compliant as she was being transported in a patrol vehicle to the law enforcement center. While she was being booked into jail, Williams says Goodpaster requested to use the bathroom. She then refused to come out of the bathroom and a deputy and an officer went in and Goodpaster assaulted them. The situation  then calmed down and the booking procedure was finishing up. Then she requested to go back to the bathroom and she then assaulted two officers and one deputy. Williams says following the incident, his deputy and one officer sustained injuries and Goodpaster was uninjured.

Goodpaster additionally faces one serious misdemeanor for assault on a person in a certain occupation and two aggravated misdemeanors for assault on a person in a certain occupation-causing injury.

She was booked into the Greene County Jail and was released on her own recognizance.
