West Central Valley Wildcat

The postseason run for the West Central Valley girls basketball team (9-12 overall) was short-lived. The Wildcats hosted the Van Meter Bulldogs (13-9 overall) Saturday in the opener of the Class 2A Region 6 bracket. A lopsided second quarter helped push the Bulldogs past the Wildcats, 56-40. The first quarter ended with the teams tied at eight. Van Meter forced the Wildcats into eight second-quarter turnovers and outscored West Central Valley 22-4 in the frame to blow the game open. Senior Taylor Beane and sophomore Sydney Neal each scored 10 points apiece for West Central Valley. The Wildcats girls basketball season ends with a 9-12 overall mark. West Central Valley loses four seniors to graduation including Beane, Bailey Burris, Grace Dupuy, and Kennedy Lose.
