One of the top scorers on this year’s Grand View Women’s basketball team is 2015 West Central Valley alum Bailee Arnburg. Arnburg, a junior guard for the Lady Vikings, came into Wednesday’s game against the William Penn Lady Statesman as the squad’s leading scorer with 314 points. The two Heart of America Conference rivals squared off in Des Moines on Wednesday as the Statesman became the first team all season to hold the Stuart native scoreless. Arnburg took five shots all night but did contribute in other ways with five rebounds and dishing out a team-leading four assists in over 31 minutes of game action. Despite William Penn’s great defensive effort on Arnburg, Grand View still came away with a 58-50 victory. The win is the 20th victory this season for the Lady Vikings, improving their league record to 13-3. Grand View returns to the floor in Canton, Missouri tomorrow afternoon to face the Culver Stockton College Wildcats.
