Guthrie SheriffThe recent severe winter weather across Guthrie County brings with it important safety reminders when traveling in vehicles. This is also the case for recreational vehicles such as snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). Sheriff Marty Arganbright has already seen his fair share of accidents this winter season, and wants to make sure those traveling follow all safety precautions.

Arganbright reminds residents who partake in these activities to obey all signs and follow marked paths. He mentions some of the objects snowmobilers should look out for. “There are designated areas along the roadway that have been marked for snowmobiling. (They) mark out culverts and roadways and different danger places for snowmobilers.”

He also reminds drivers to use caution and properly cross all highways and major intersections. Arganbright recommends using bike trails and other less traveled paths to further enhance safety.
