Today and tomorrow, the Perry Chamber of Commerce is hosting an annual event and one brand new event, with the Chocolate Walk and winter farmers market.

Chamber Board President Emily Leslie says they decided to switch things up with this year’s Chocolate Walk by adding a second day and incorporating the winter farmers market. She believes the extra day will give more people the opportunity to attend, as well as extra businesses who could only take part on one of the days. Additionally with the introduction of the farmers market, Leslie hopes the events will each support the other, encouraging people who would have ordinarily only taken part in one to take part in both.

The weather this weekend could be a deterrent, but there again Leslie sees the benefit to holding the events over two days instead of one. “Obviously the weather is a factor, but we are creating those opportunities and programs for our Chamber members to take advantage of, and the community to take advantage of. And that’s what we’re excited to be part of, and just see those people. You know, it is snowy, but after a couple snowy days, you start to try to find that something to do in the community that you live in. So here’s that opportunity for you to come out and shop!”

The Chocolate Walk and winter farmers market will be running today and tomorrow from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tickets for the Chocolate Walk are $5 each, and are good for both days of the event, while the farmers market is free to attend. There are 24 total businesses throughout Perry taking part in the Chocolate Walk, each offering a different treat. However, a few will only be open for one of the two days. See below for a full list of participating businesses. The winter farmers market will be held in the gallery of the Towncraft Building.
