acgcThe ACGC Charger girls opened up their postseason play against the AHSTW Lady Vikes on Saturday in Avoca. The Chargers left the postseason, and entered the offseason, that night after the Vikes defeated the Chargers 65-40.

The Chargers held on to a one-point lead at the end of the first quarter. But the Lady Vikes used an 18-8 scoring edge, including a clutch three by senior Sarah Butcher, to end the half. Despite the unfortunate outcome, junior Jadeyn Carrick ended the night on a positive note, breaking Morgan Meachem’s combined regular and postseason scoring record. Carrick tallied a team-high 11 points in the loss, and 169 in 22 games. Senior Mady Smith also ended her career on the court in Avoca, scoring five and finishing her career with 326 points. The Charger girls end their season at 2-20, with wins over Woodward-Granger and Ogden. Hear more from Smith and Head Coach Aaron Dose on tonight’s Guthrie County PM Sports Page.
