Monday, February 12th

5:42am: A caller advised of a vehicle on fire at the Greene County Middle School, located in the 200 Block of South Vine Street. The officer arrived and made contact with a delivery driver who advised his rear brakes had locked up on his semi-trailer, causing the fire. The driver was able to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher before the officer’s arrival. The driver had made arrangements with his company to remove the trailer from the area.

7:59am: An officer investigated a Two Vehicle Property Damage Accident at Monroe and Vine Streets. A 2011 Honda Accord, owned and operated by Reanna Halterman of Jefferson, was westbound in the 100 Block of West Monroe Street. Halterman did not yield to a southbound vehicle in the 200 Block of South Vine Street and struck the left rear. The 2001 Chevrolet Traverse was owned and operated by Karen Shannon of Jefferson. Both vehicles had a reported $500.00 in damages. Halterman was issued a citation for, “Failure to Yield to the Right.”

9:46am: Paula Upton reported a stray dog in the area of Elm and Russell Streets. The officer checked the area, but did not locate the animal.

12:41pm: Sam Chaloupka requested a Welfare Check on a female at 500 East Clark Street after reading posts on Face Book from the female. The officer made contact with the female, who was fine.

3:04pm: The Schwan’s Corporation requested an officer to look in Jefferson for one of their drivers. He was not answering his phone. The officer did not locate the driver in town.

8:35pm: Charlie Jarnagin-Paniagua reported being harassed by a female on Snap Chat and Face Book. The officer is working to contact the female and end the unwanted contact.

10:22pm: Casey’s reported a possible intoxicated driver leaving 508 North Elm Street. The vehicle was reported to travel north of Elm Street. The officer did not locate the vehicle.

10:46pm: A caller advised of a semi driving Carelessly on 220th Street towards Jefferson from the east. The office did not locate the reported vehicle.
