Jefferson Matters: Main Street is hosting a Business After Hours Event on Monday.

The Economic Vitality Committee is sponsoring a “Social Media 101 for Businesses” workshop at the Jefferson Elks Lodge on Monday, February 26th. The featured speaker is Main Street Iowa Business Specialist Robin Bostrom. She will share how to create content and a calendar for effective social media marketing. Social media areas that she will cover include: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter, MailChimp and Yelp. Handouts will be available following the presentation.

JMMS Program Director Peg Raney talks about how they developed the idea to have a workshop like this.

“Deb McGinn and I went to a professional development given by Main Street Iowa. They presented all of these different avenues of social media and how businesses might be able to get started on this, if they haven’t already, and maybe a few tips and hints. So we’ve asked Robin Bostrom to come and make a presentation.”

A social time begins at 5:15pm with a free drink and snacks provided by Greater Life Chiropractic with Dr. Phil Heisterkamp. The presentation will start at 5:45pm. The workshop is free and open to the public.
