We delve further into the trip the Greene County High School girls’ basketball team took to Iowa City last weekend. The girls raised funds in the fight against cancer at the Annual Pink Out night and other activities. More than $1,000 was donated to the Stead Family Children’s Hospital on the U. of Iowa campus.

Head coach Dean Lyons explains. “They gave us a tour, and one of the highlights was we went up to the twelfth floor where “The Wave” happens. If you look on the Internet and other places, there are pictures of this on greenecountygirlsbasketball. The hospital people got this big check out when we presented our check and the girls got a big kick out of that. It was an amazing day and I was so proud of these girls for all the work they did to raise the money. They fixed supper for families at the Ronald McDonald House, and it was quite an experience.”
