ADM Tigers

Although their Raccoon River Conference season ends without a victory, the seniors on the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers boys basketball team (3-15 overall; 0-14) shined in their league finale. ADM recognized 15 winter sports seniors Friday night in a ceremony in between varsity games with half the group associated with the Tiger boys basketball team. Seniors accounted for 46 of ADM’s 53 points Friday in a five-point loss to Boone (12-7 overall; 9-5 RRC). Rylan Heffernan topped the scoring sheet with 15 points, while Zach Ferguson added 10 points. Caleb Herrick and Dalton Hews chipped in seven apiece. The loss drops ADM’s overall record to 3-15 with two nonconference games left in the regular season.

The ADM girls basketball team (8-13 overall; 7-7 RRC) suffered a lopsided loss to Class 4A No. 6 Boone (20-1; 14-0 RRC) in the opening varsity game of the night, 55-18. Sophomore Abbie Hlas accounted for 11 of the 18 points scored by the Tigers. The Tigers close the regular season with an overall record of 8-13, finishing the league season with seven wins and seven losses. ADM opens postseason play in the Class 4A Region 8 bracket Wednesday against the Winterset Huskies.
