The second half of the West Central Activities Conference basketball season continues tonight in Stuart as a pair of Guthrie County schools collide on the hardwood. The West Central Valley Wildcats girls basketball team welcome the Panorama Panthers to town for their final league matchup. Panorama cruised by West Central Valley, 75-35, when the two teams met initially in Panora on December 1.

The Wildcats will attempt to end two winning streaks Panorama currently holds. The Panthers, Class 2A’s No. 6 squad, brings an 11 game winning streak into tonight’s meeting. Panorama has also won the last 19 meetings against West Central Valley dating back to the 2009 regional tournament. West Central Valley head girls basketball coach Drew Stonewall was a guest on this week’s Karl Cheverlot of Stuart Guthrie County PM Sports Page, and he believes Panorama is the best team on his team’s schedule this season. “They continue to look really good; they are well coached,” Stonewall said, “They shoot well, not just an inside game but an outside game too. They’re scrappy, and they play great defense. We’ll have our work cut out for us.”

The varsity doubleheader between Panorama and West Central Valley starts with tip-off of the girls game at 6 p.m. from Stuart.
