West Central Valley Wildcat

A busy week for the West Central Valley basketball teams continues tonight in Urbandale. The Wildcats make their annual road trip to Des Moines Christian High School for a West Central Activities Conference matchup against the Lions. The games were initially scheduled for January 2 but were rescheduled due to winter weather.

Both Wildcat basketball teams came through with victories in their latest contest Tuesday night in Guthrie Center. The West Central Valley girls basketball team picked up their sixth win of the season against the AC/GC Chargers, 58-46. Three Wildcat players finished with double-digit points in the win, led by senior Grace Dupuy’s 16 points. Senior Taylor Beane chipped in 15 points, while sophomore Sydney Neal added 10. The West Central Valley boys basketball team picked up their second win of the season in a 64-52 victory over AC/GC Tuesday. Junior Cole Arnburg led the Wildcats with 19 points.

Both Des Moines Christian basketball teams are finding success on the hardwood this winter. The Lady Lions post a record of 11-4 overall, while the Lion boys basketball squad has won 13 of their 14 games. Tonight’s varsity doubleheader tips off at 6 p.m. with the girl’s contest, and the boys will follow from Des Moines Christian High School in Urbandale.
