Valentine’s Day is less than a month away  and a local art studio will give you a chance to make something for that special someone. Turtle Star Studio in Stuart will be hosting a three-part class on heart garlands. The first part begins this weekend.

The first part is “MAKE.” In this stage, participants will create personalized pendants from a pre-rolled slab of clay. Various textures, letter stamps, and cookie-cutter shapes will be provided to create these pendants. The second part, “GLAZE,” deals with brushing glazes on the kiln fired pendants. In the final part, “STRING,” participants will use ribbon to string the pendants into garlands.

The cost is $40 for the whole workshop, which includes instructions and materials. Each part takes approximately two hours and four time slots will be available to complete each part. A minimum of four people is needed, otherwise the time slot will be cancelled and you’ll be asked to join another time slot. Space is limited and those able to commit to all three stages will be given preference.

2) GLAZE. Select and brush glaze(s) on your kiln-fired pendants.

3) STRING. Use ribbon to string your kiln-fired (again) pendants into a beautiful garland!
