An Iowa Representative was recently arrested for an OWI.

Sources say District 47 Representative Chip Baltimore was arrested early Friday morning by the Ames Police Department. Online court records show that an officer pulled Baltimore’s vehicle over, after allegedly observing it swerving in his lane, just as his vehicle exited onto Highway 30.

Sources say Baltimore submitted to a breathalyzer test in which his blood alcohol content was 0.147-percent, almost double the legal limit of 0.08-percent. Baltimore also told the officer he had a gun in his vehicle. However, he also had a permit to carry.

Baltimore was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm while under the influence and OWI-1st offense. He was booked into the Story County Jail and just had his initial appearance.
