After a layoff of just over one month, Greene County sends its wrestlers back to the mat. Coach Mark Sawhill’s Rams wrestle tonight in a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference double-dual meet in Alleman vs. North Polk and Roland-Story (Story City). Starting time is 6 p.m.

The Rams last wrestled at the Dec. 16 Tiger-Knight Invitational at Carroll High. They missed the Jan. 5 North Polk round-robin tournament, the Jan. 11 home double-dual with PCM (Monroe) and South Hamilton (Jewell), the Jan. 13 Storm Invitational in Eldora, and the Jan. 16 double-dual in Guthrie Center with ACGC and South Central Calhoun (Lake City).

The main culprit for missing meets is a skin disease commonly known as mat herpes. The team was checked by a medical doctor on Monday of this week and given permission to not only practice, but to begin competition and tonight is the first night back.

The HOIAC tournament is this Saturday in Story City starting at 10 a.m.
