Perry School Board 8-14

The Perry School Board convened Monday evening for their first meeting of 2018.

Superintendent Clark Wicks and Board Member Casey Baldwin were absent from the meeting. In general business, Mike Murphy from Larson Engineering gave the Board an update on the Dewey Complex project. The Board also approved publishing a request for bids, with a due date of February 6th. Larson said there will be two contractors on the project, and bids will be brought before the Board for consideration at the February 12th meeting.

Next, the Board approved a partnership with Wildwood Hills Ranch for camps for at-risk students. There is no cost for the parents of students who attend, and the only cost for the District is for transportation to and from the camp’s location in Charles City. The Board then approved several other items, including: School Budget Review Committee requests for administrative costs for the Woodward Day School and Grandwood Consortium; revisions of Board policies; two early graduation requests; three personnel changes; and the purchase of a 2018 Chevrolet Suburban for $38,876.
