Chief Eric Vaughn Awarded the 2017 Perry Rotary Club Civil Servant of the Year

Perry Police Chief Eric Vaughn was honored recently by the Perry Rotary Club, receiving their 2017 Civil Servant of the Year Award.

Perry Rotary Club President Kevin Vidergar presented the award to Vaughn at the recent City Council meeting. He said Vaughn was chosen because of the leadership he had shown throughout the year, which included the handling of two high-profile cases, as well as his calming presence in the community. Vaughn told Raccoon Valley Radio that he felt honored to be recognized by the people he works with and those he serves.

The nominees for the award included those who work or volunteer in law enforcement, the fire department, the ambulance squad, health care, human services, and other emergency services. Vaughn was one of many public servants nominated by the community for the annual award.
