Perry City Council 2

The Perry City Council will convene Monday evening for their first regular session of 2018.

The meeting will also be the first under new Mayor John Andorf. In old business, there will be discussion and possible action regarding the renewal of the City’s Federal Migratory Bird Depredation permit. The roosting turkey vultures have been a problem in Perry for years, but the City has found some success in using vulture effigies to drive them away. In order to continue the practice, they will need to file for renewal. Next, the Council will consider a resolution approving a request for bids to finish the soccer complex project, while also officially terminating their business with original contractors, Spring Lake Construction.

In new business, the Council will consider approval of five appointments to the Perry Historic Preservation Commission. Four members of the Commission either resigned or desired not to be reappointed, and the fifth is requesting reappointment. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the Clarion Room at City Hall.
