Tomorrow the first meeting of the Perry Chamber of Commerce’s Ambassador program will be held.

Chamber Board President Emily Leslie says the program is open to those who work at businesses in the Chamber, but who don’t have a seat on the Board of Directors. She believes it’s a way to get even more people involved in the many Chamber events throughout the year, while also keeping the Board better informed of what’s going on in the community. As far as the time commitment for Ambassadors, Leslie says it’s less than you might think. “It is something that we really want to start on the right foot. And we don’t want people to sign up and then not participate. So we are letting people know, you will have one meeting a month, and then on top of that it’ll be at least 1-2 other hours a month. So between 1-3 hours a month for that involvement to be an Ambassador.”

The Ambassadors will meet the third Thursday of every month, starting tomorrow, from noon-1 p.m. Meetings will be held in the conference room of the Towncraft Building.
