Don’t forget, today the Perry and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn high school speech teams are participating in the District Large Group Speech competition.

The Perry team is traveling to Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, where 25 students will take part in 11 entries. The events include group improvisational acting, ensemble acting, short film, and T.V. news. The ADM team will compete at Creston High School, where over 90 students will take part in 24 entries. Their events include one act, reader’s theater, varsity and freshman choral reading, ensemble acting, group mime, music theater, group improv, radio news, T.V. news, and short film.

It costs $3 to attend the competitions, with the money going to the host school. Groups that receive “I” ratings today will advance to the State Competition on February 3rd in Waukee.
