High praise continues to follow the Panorama Panthers girls basketball program (15-1 overall) courtesy of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. The Union’s weekly basketball rankings came out Thursday afternoon, and the Panthers are rated third in Class 2A, up two spots from last week. Panorama enters tonight’s West Central Activities Conference matchup against AC/GC winners of their last 14 games. Panorama was tested in their latest game Tuesday at home against the Earlham Cardinals. The Panthers, who led 37-35 after the third quarter, outscored the Cardinals 12-2 in the final eight minutes for a 52-39 victory. Junior Bailey Beckman led Panorama with 17 points and eight rebounds. Senior Morgan Johnk added 15 points and seven rebounds in the win. Tonight’s contest against the Chargers can be heard live on the KKRF2 stream at racoonvalleyradio.com with pregame coverage starting at 5:45 p.m. and the varsity tip off set for 6 p.m.
