The Greene County Medical Center has a new Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Michael Line started with the medical center on January 2nd. Dr. Line will be responsible for monitoring the medical center’s care practices, as well as leading and supporting the network of providers at the medical center for the best clinical outcomes and care coordination. He will be traveling to the medical center two days per week, while maintaining his current position at Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines as a pediatric hospitalist.

Dr. Line is a University of Wisconsin graduate and completed his residency at Blank Children’s Hospital. He also completed a two-year fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at Children’s Hospital in Denver through the University of Colorado. He completed a Masters in Medical Management through the University of Southern California in 2017.

Line replaces Dr. Jon Van Der Veer, who was with the medical center from April of 2014 to November of 2017.
