Greene County SheriffA passenger suffered minor injuries in a car versus deer accident in Greene County.

Sheriff Jack Williams says the incident happened at 9:30pm Wednesday on Highway 30 near Orchard Avenue. Thirty-year-old Laura Oldenburg of Rippey was driving a 2005 Dodge Caravan when she struck a deer, causing the vehicle to be totaled. The airbags didn’t go off in the vehicle. Williams notes that while the driver was uninjured, her passenger, 39-year-old Nola Tolle of Rippey, was taken to Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Emergency Medical Services for minor injuries.

Williams reminds everyone that if you are in a deer accident, you have to call and file a report with law enforcement, otherwise the insurance company will deny the claim. The non-emergency number to the law enforcement center in Jefferson is 386-2136.
