Connection Map

The Iowa Transportation Commission recently approved seven federal grants for the Recreational Trail Program, and the “Let’s Connect” project was one of the recipients.

The project, which will bridge the nine miles between the Raccoon River Valley Trail in Perry and the High Trestle Trail in Woodward, was awarded a grant for $161,968. The Transportation Commission approved around $1.5 million in funding for the seven trail projects around the state. The grant program was created in 1991 for the purpose of developing and maintaining recreational trails, with funding available to cities, counties, state and federal agencies, and private organizations.

The grant brings “Let’s Connect” even closer to its goal. To date, they’ve raised approximately half of the $5 million needed to complete the project. Fore more information or to make a donation, click the link below.
