A Jefferson man was sentenced to probation for a September theft incident.

According to court documents, 33-year-old Jake John Ball had his two-year prison sentence suspended and was placed on two-years of probation after pleading guilty to an aggravated misdemeanor for third degree theft.

The judgement stems from a September 9th incident where Ball stole several items from a Churdan resident. He was originally charged with three counts of unlawful possession of prescription drugs, three counts of third degree burglary, violation of a no contact order and ongoing criminal conduct. All other charges were dropped. Ball was also ordered to pay court-appointed attorney fees, court costs, victim restitution and a probation enrollment fee.
