Jefferson LibraryThe Jefferson Public Library is looking to possibly expand and/or improve its facilities.

The library received a grant through the State Library of Iowa to hire a consultant for a space utilization study. George Lawson will assess: the current facilities, the amount of space needed to deliver library services, house material collections and educational programs offered. As part of the study, there will be two public input meetings held on Tuesday, January 16th at 2 and 7pm at the First Presbyterian Church. Attendees can provide feedback and suggestions about how they see services being offered and how the space is being utilized in the library.

Lawson will then compile a final study and offer recommendations to the Library Board of Trustees. The trustees will then use the study to determine a long-range plan for the facilities.

The public meetings are free and pre-registration is encouraged.
