acgcJunior Jadeyn Carrick began her confident scoring run nearly two weeks ago in their first season win over Woodward-Granger. Another junior, who has played most of the season off the bench, dropped five three-pointers enroute to her career high 17 points. Unfortunately Genevieve Hoover’s performance wasn’t enough as the Charger girls fell to the West Central Valley Wildcats 58-46, in Stuart Tuesday evening.

After an 8-8 tie at the end of the first quarter, the Wildcats started to pull away with clutch threes from Joelle Grubbs and Aliyah Dickson. Senior leader Grace Dupuy also paced the Wildcats with 16 total points. Hoover’s five of six shooting from the three-point line kept the Chargers in the game, after trailing 26-19 at the half. However, ACGC missed five critical free-throws down the stretch to let the game slip away.

Fellow juniors Sierra O’Brien and Jadeyn Carrick scored a combined 17 points to keep the game competitive. The Chargers will try to bounce back with a non-conference matchup against the CAM Cougars tomorrow night. Tip-off begins at 6pm from Guthrie Center.
