Greene County ExtensionThe Greene County Extension Council recently elected a new set of officers for 2018.

At their first meeting of the year on January 10th, the Council chose Bob Smith of Jefferson to serve as the Council Chair. He will preside over all Council meetings, have the ability to call special meetings and perform and exercise duties by a chairperson of a board of directors for a company. Jake Bohnet of Paton was elected vice-chair. Shari Minnihan of Churdan was selected as secretary, and Pam Olerich was elected treasurer.

In compliance with Iowa law, the nine-person board is the governing body for Greene County Extension. They can hire staff members, manage the Extension budget of over $320,000 and help determine programming.

Board members are elected by Greene County voters.
