Monday morning at approximately 10:25 am, the Coon Rapids Police Department was made aware of posts involving the district. The posts warned of possible gun violence and stated not to go back to school.

The district was immediately made aware of the situation and the source of the post was interviewed. The threat was determined to be made as a joke and the threat of violence was not deemed credible. The student involved is a juvenile and legal action is pending at this time. As a precaution, law enforcement will be on sight when school resumes on Thursday.
