Since the 2017 Greene County High School football season ended, the Rams have been on a mission to get stronger. Head Coach Mitch Moore talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about weight lifting. “Speaking from a football standpoint, from the day football was done, that following Monday, we had a group of people in here lifting already, really led by Brent Riley and Brandon Hoyle. These are two guys that have been the lifters of the month for the month of December. They haven’t missed a day and have been in here when they didn’t need to be. They’ve been organizing those guys that aren’t in a Winter sport. All our guys that are in a Winter sport have been in here lifting two times a week, every week, no matter what, whether they had a competition or not. So, the strength and conditioning aspect of this whole athletic program has really laid a good foundation.”

Coach Moore, like everyone following the Greene County football program, is anxious to find out whether the Rams will compete in Class 3A or 2A for 2018 and ’19. The Rams have produced back-to-back one win seasons in 3A the past two seasons. The coach expects to hear soon from the Iowa High School Athletic Association which class the Rams will be in.
