Chargers to Battle Bulldogs for Round Two Tonight

acgcThe ACGC Charger basketball teams will hit the court again tonight for West Central Activities Conference doubleheader action against the Ogden Bulldogs.

Junior Jadeyn Carrick’s recent rise in scoring success began in Ogden earlier this season. Carrick recorded her first double-double in her career for the Charger girls, dropping eleven points and grabbing fourteen rebounds in the defeat. Sierra O’Brien totaled nine points and Lauryn Embleton recorded five rebounds and five steals in the first game against the Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Bulldogs are coming off a win over the Madrid Lady Tigers and a week’s worth of rest. A trio of bulldogs scored ten points or more in the first meeting with ACGC.

The boys game will feature four of the top ten scorers in the conference. Ogden junior Ben Heeren is second in the conference in scoring with 198 total points and first in rebounds with 126. Classmate Kayden Kruse averages 13 points per game himself and nailed five three-pointers in the 65-56 win earlier this season. Charger senior Caden Wardyn scored 17 points in the defeat, while fellow senior Collin Stowe scored a season high 16. The Chargers are looking to snap an eight game losing streak before their next four games on the road.

The doubleheader starts at 6pm for the girls game, with the boys to follow. You can catch both games on KKRF2 and the Raccoon Valley Radio Network, with pre-game coverage starting at 5:45 from Guthrie Center.
