acgcThe ACGC girls basketball team is coming off a 54-48 win at home against Ogden. The Charger girls will have another opportunity to do something they’ve never done in program history: win two consecutive games. They’ll get a good opportunity as they travel to Stuart to take on the West Central Valley Wildcats in a WCAC and Guthrie County showdown.

Junior Jadeyn Carrick has found her confidence to say the least. Now the leading scorer for the squad, Carrick has averaged 18 points per game in her last three conference matchups, contributing to two wins in the process. Charger head coach Aaron Dose sees a similar matchup against WCV to Ogden. “It’s going to be a pretty similar game. Defend and rebound and then who can score in key moments. I’m sure it will be a good game for us.”

As for the WCV, senior Grace Dupuy leads the way for the Wildcats. The future Dubuque Spartan is the top scorer, averaging about 17.5 points and nine rebounds per game. The Wildcats are coming off a 68-28 loss to Panorama and enter tonight’s contest at 5-7. The Wildcats defeated the Chargers in Guthrie Center 54-50 earlier this season, with Dupuy recording a double-double of 28 points and 14 rebounds.

You can catch the game at 6pm, with pre-game coverage starting at 5:45, on KKRF2 and the Raccoon Valley Radio Network. Be sure to wear pink as Relay for Life of Guthrie County will be sponsoring a Pink Out event during the game.
